 Freycinet National Park offers visitors a range of wonderful opportunities to enjoy spectacular coastal scenery, colourful wildflowers and a variety of Tasmania's animal life.

Your time here can be as relaxed or as energetic as you wish. Entry fees are applicable to Freycinet National Park. Fees range from $24.00 per vehicle a day to yearly fees of $96.00 for an annual all parks vehicle pass.

Facilities and Further Information 

Discovery Ranger activities

During summer, rangers offer a variety of activities such as walks, talks and slide shows for both adults and children. Besides being lots of fun these are a great way to learn about Tasmania's national parks, wildlife and heritage.

Day visitor facilities 

Electric barbecues, picnic tables, water and toilets are located at Honeymoon Bay and Ranger Creek.

Camping  

Note: The park offers a variety of basic powered sites for campervans and caravans up to 18 feet (5.4m) and unpowered campsites for tents. Sites are available all year around, except for Honeymoon Bay camping area which is only open over summer and Easter.  A ballot, drawn on the 1 August operates for Richardsons Beach and Honeymoon Bay between December and Easter each year.

All campers must book at the visitor centre prior to taking up a site.

 Camping fees per night at the above sites are as follows:

For overnight walkers there are small campsites at Wineglass Bay, Hazards, and Cooks Beaches. Basic Camping and toilets are also available at the Friendly Beaches. Prices are subject to change.

Rubbish disposal 

Tasmanian national parks do not provide rubbish bins.  Rubbish bins overflow and create unsightly litter and have adverse health effects on wildlife feeding from bins. Please take all rubbsh with you and dispose of it where it can be dealt with in an environmentally sound manner.

Fires 

Freycinet is a Fuel Stove Only Area. To protect the environment all of Freycinet National Park, including the Friendly beaches and Schouten Island are declared Fuel Stove Only areas and campfires are not permitted.

Gas and fuel stoves may be used at all campsites except on days of Total Fire Ban. On days of Total Fire Ban, no naked flames of any sort, including gas and fuel stoves are allowed in the open. The electric barbecues provided at Ranger Creek and Honeymoon Bay picnic areas can be used for cooking on these days.
